GCSE Artwork

Dunluce Art Department find a high profile showroom....
It might look as if some of Mrs. Shannon’s Year 10 art pupils have become builders, but it’s just a Health& Safety thing. They were at the site of the new Visitor Centre at the Giant’s Causeway, where some of their artwork was being put up on display for all the world (literally) to see. We enjoy a special relationship with this World Heritage Site and the pupils were proud to see their efforts brightening up the surroundings while the building work continues. Head of the Art Department Miss Harrison takes up the story....
On Friday 3rd June a group of 17 pupils from 10EH, accompanied by myself and their art teacher Mrs. Shannon, spent the morning at the Giant’s Causeway. They were given a presentation by Gilbert Ash, contractors for the site development at the new Visitors Centre, outlining the construction process, site safety and their links to the National Trust.
Pupils were given the chance to see first hand the progress of the site and also given the opportunity to use various pieces of equipment and machinery. The trip concluded with the pupils’ 8 art boards, previously completed in class and depicting various aspects of the Causeway, being erected on the hoarding at the entrance to the development.
