Causeway Ramble
Friday 19 June will go down as yet another successful fund-raising event at Dunluce. Following the pattern of recent years, our whole school walked the five miles to the Giant’s Causeway and back, following the railway path as far as the Causeway Centre.
The event was enjoyed by everyone and the behaviour of our pupils attracted several compliments from tourists who were at the Causeway at the same time.
The sum raised this year has already reached over £5,600, exceeding last year’s total! This will be very much appreciated by the Ulster Cancer Foundation, whose funds have suffered over the past year due to the economic recession.
Many thanks to all those who made the effort to get sponsors and who helped to make this a very worthwhile event. It’s always good to see our young people thinking about those whose lives have been affected in some way by cancer. There will be a special assembly to hand over a cheque to UCF in September. We’ll also find out who won the prizes for top fund-raisers in each Year Group.
