Home Economics

Considering the increased popularity of cookery programmes on the television and the news that Gordon Ramsey had appointed former pupil Clare Smyth as Head Chef of his flagship restaurant in Chelsea (making her the first female in Britain to reach this 3 Michelin Star status), the Home Economics Department felt well able to take on the demands of the Revised Curriculum.
We have revamped materials in order to provide a sound basis for Key Stage 4 study and to include as much practical work as possible, while still considering the healthy eating aspect.

Our Open Night cookery display and demonstration certainly gave pupils an opportunity to show their skills and we look forward to producing a Masterchef contestant in the not too distant future.
