Art

Year 11 GCSE art – no formal weekly homeworks are set but pupils are expected to complete any pieces of classwork which have been not completed on time.  This is particularly significant for pupils who work at a slower pace than their peers.  The format of these tasks are likely to vary greatly ranging from observational drawing to research on computer.
Year 12 GCSE art – no formal weekly homeworks are set but it is expected that pupils will be working on ‘editing’ or improving sections of their portfolio (unit 1 project) at home.  They will be guided by their teacher on how to do this throughout the year and will be given ‘task lists’ when appropriate.  The portion of time spent on art at home will increase significantly during the second half of the first term and pupils will be encouraged to attend after school art for additional teacher support.
Year 11 Occupational Studies, specialised and enterprise crafts – no formal weekly homeworks are set but pupils will be expected to complete some research, design and evaluation tasks when appropriate (started in class)  This is especially significant for pupils who work at a slower pace than their peers.
