Spanish Trip

"On Sunday June 15 my grandmother dropped me off at Dunluce School. There were 20 girls, 7 boys and 3 teachers. We travelled by bus to Belfast International Airport. I was thrilled to be going to Spain for the first time.
Our flight to Barcelona was 2 ½ hours long. Once we arrived we got a bus to Salou, where we were staying in a 3-star hotel. I was really looking forward to visiting the Portaventura Theme Park the next day. The Waterpark was great, and we even got to do some sunbathing.
My first thoughts of Spain were that it as a very warm place compared to Bushmills. It was strange to hear a different language being spoken. I was a little nervous at first but this soon disappeared.
We stayed in Salou for 5 nights. During our stay we visited the theme park on 2 occasions. We also visited Barcelona for some sightseeing. We went to the Cathedral, the Football Stadium and the Olympic Stadium. On our past day we went shopping for presents and souvenirs. I really enjoyed myself and like all the places we visited, especially the football stadium and the bus tour.
When it was time to go home I had mixed emotions. I was sad to be leaving Spain but I was happy to be going home to see my family, which I had missed. When we arrived back home it was raining, as usual. I hope to return there some day later in life."
