Technology & design department
It has been another busy year in the Technology & Design Department. A lot of effort has been put into producing new schemes of work for the revised curriculum for Year 8 pupils. The new extended homework assignments have proved a big success with both the pupils and staff. These are a combination of self-evaluation by pupils along with professional guidance and marking by teachers and have been very rewarding.
Yet again we were very pleased with our GCSE results in both subject areas: Graphic Products and Technology & Design.
By introducing ‘Learning Intentions’ at the start of each lesson our pupils now seem to have a better grasp and understanding of what is expected of them. This has been very worthwhile.
At the end of the year we said farewell to Mr. Fullerton, a teacher in Dunluce for 34 years and a member of the Technology & Design Department for 18 years. We all wish him the very best for the future.
We look forward to the rest of this year with confidence as we implement the revised curriculum in Year 9 and continue to integrate new staff and pupils into the Technology & Design Department.
