Past pupil wins prestigious RTS media award

Richard Parke, a past pupil, came back to Dunluce to show us the RTS award that he won for his short film "Say Something."

Winners at the Royal Television Society awards in the Black Box in March automatically progressed to compete against students from across the UK later this year.

“The RTS NI Student Television Awards offer the opportunity for talented media students from across Northern Ireland to showcase their work to some of the creative industry’s biggest names,” UTV’s Michael Wilson told the audience at the awards ceremony.

“Winning an RTS NI Student Television Award will give media students within Northern Ireland a real profile in the industry, as well as a recognised accolade to put on their CV.”

Richard (pictured with Head of Media Studies, Mr McClarty, and his media teacher, Mrs Muldoon.) won the "Open category" beating off strong competition from across the province.  He wanted to thank Mrs Muldoon for the work she did with him while studying for his GCSE media studies.

We would like to wish Richard all the very best in what looks to be a promising career in the media.  You can watch his video at his youtube channel:  RICHARD PARKE
