St Jospeph's 2 Dunluce 5

Our Under 13 Football team got their season off to a great start with conclusive victory over St Joseph's, Coleraine.

Most of the damage was done in the first half.  Cameron Black crossed from the right, allowing Ross Irwin (pictured) to head the opener.  Josh Dunlop (pictured) and Robert Neill quickly added to the score, with Ross Irwin getting his second before the break.

After half time the Coleraine side came back into the game, scoring early in the half; but Josh Dunlop effectively ended the tie when he chipped the St Joe's keeper to make it 4:1.  St Jospeh's scored a late consolation, but it did little to dent the spirits of the Dunluce team and they saw the remainder off the game out comfortably.

Mr Lutton was very pleased with the result, "We couldn't have hoped for a better start to the season.  The boys played well as a team, and could have even scored more.  There are quite a few games to go and we know there will be some tough challenges ahead - but this performance gives us a good start going into those games."
